60 minute Individual Therapy Session: $250

Like most speciality providers, I do not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility.

I do reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you can afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Can I Use Out-Of-Network Benefits?

Yes! If you have out-of-network insurance benefits, your insurance company will typically reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session after you’ve met your deductible. I can also provide you with a monthly Superbill, that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

How to Check Your Out-of-Network Benefits?

If you’re unsure about your out-of-network coverage, call the number on the back of your insurance card under Member Services and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for Telehealth?

In some cases, clients have successfully obtained reimbursement by demonstrating the medical necessity of trauma-informed therapy (e.g EMDR) and submitting a continued care request form. If your plan requires additional documentation, I can provide supporting materials—so be sure to advocate for your needs!

  • What is my out-of-network deductible and how much of it has been met this year?

  • What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

  • How much will I be reimbursed for a 60 minute psychotherapy session? (CPT code: 90837)

  • Do I need preauthorization?

Some insurance plans require prior approval before covering out-of-network therapy.

  • Can I use my Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) for therapy?

Most FSA and HSA plans cover therapy sessions. You can submit a claim through your FSA or HSA portal to receive reimbursement.

  • How do I submit a claim for reimbursement?

I provide Superbills, which you can download from your patient portal and submit directly to your insurance provider.

  • How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

How Can I Pay for my Session?

I accept credit cards, cash, check, and HSA cards. I use a HIPPA approved payment system called Ivy Pay.

What Does a First Session Look Like?

As a therapist, I have a collaborative, non-judgmental approach. During the first session or two, I will ask a lot of questions to get background and relevant history. We will also discuss what has brought you into therapy, as well as what goals you’d like to work toward during our time together. This session is all about establishing a safe, supportive space for us to begin your healing journey.
